Happy Thanksgiving

November 24th, 2009

thanksgiving21I want to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving and remind you about our Thanksgiving service this coming Sunday, November 29th.  This service will be a little different in that there will be some additional music intermingled with testimonies from people sharing with us why they are thankful.  There will be a short challenge where we will attempt to understand the biblical significance of the Feast of Tabernacles.  It will be a great service.  I hope to see you there.

Again, have a great Thanksgiving!

Volleyball In The Park On Wednesday Evenings

October 1st, 2009

volleyballFor the next several Wednesday evenings we will be changing up small groups.  Instead of meeting for a Bible study, we will be meeting at local parks to play volleyball or football.  These activities provide a great opportunity for you to invite people to come hang out and in the process meet other people in our church in a non-threatening and non-intimidating environment.  We encourage you to identify people you can invite to hang out with us over the next several weeks.

There are two parks where we will be meeting:

Standifer Gap Park
8327 Standifer Gap Rd.
Chattanooga, TN 37421

          -AND-

Gilbert Stephenson Park
20 Van Cleve St.
Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742

If you have any questions, you can call Pastor John at 423-653-0884.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Renewing Our Vision Sunday

September 8th, 2009

cookout1This Sunday will be “Renewing Our Vision” Sunday.  The focus of the service will be on the vision that we have for Turning Point Community Church.  We believe that God has great things in store for us, and we want to keep that focus in the front of our minds.  Following the service there will be a cookout at the Collegedale Pavilion located by the Collegedale City Hall and Imagination Station.

If you are want to learn more about Turning Point, this will be a great opportunity to meet the people and see the vision we have.  Please consider this an open invitation for you and your family to join us this Sunday, September 13th.

New Series Starting Sunday

September 3rd, 2009

Create RipplesThis Sunday we will be starting a new 3-week series entitled “Create Ripples”. This Sunday we will look at how Jesus impacted other people on a daily basis. On week 2, we will refocus on the purpose of our church and be reminded of how we can impact others as a local church through our combined efforts. On week 3, we will examine ways that we as individuals can intentionally impact those in our lives. Following the service on September 13th there will be a cookout at the Collegedale pavilion. We will be posting more information. All are invited.
